This event was good publicity and has been posted to the main page of TGWTG.com. Moacube has received some positive traffic from this, and time will tell just how much impact this will have. Moacube has discussed the effects of social media and other sites on their sales and exposure, so where does this stand in comparison? I reached out to Moacube and the response has been positive, but it is not yet the large scale mainstream breakout we may hope for. One promising aspect of it is that a good number of those who decided to visit Moacube after discovering the interview and posting did choose to make a purchase. JesuOtaku, who is currently writing for a Nicole add-on, is connecting with the EVN community, and may be here to stay. These are opportunities that fans and creators need to be on the lookout for: outlets in unexpected places that might bring in a wider and more diverse fan base. Even with Cinders having been out for a year there are still things that can be done to attract new fans. After all, who would have known that anime fans want to see more non-anime visual novels?
The WIP of the Week is Kendo Crush by PixelFade. It is an ambitious slice of life dating sim where the protagonist has just arrived at a school and must join a club, but only one available. It plans to be fully voiced, including the main character, and have a large amount of player agency in the path the story takes. There is a playable “teaser” available for download if you want to check it out on PC or Mac.
Enjoy the weekend, you have earned it after catching up on all of this news! This has been Will reporting for VNs Now!
