Back again from the walls of the Forbidden City, this month I come bearing news about the upcoming release of Mitsumata! What happened for Kin-ou to become Rosegold? What is 'Marketing Guy' working on? And will this be one of the longest EVNs made? All of the answers are below!
There are certain things in life that turns into an Nathan Drake adventure without you even trying. After today, I think it's fair for Mitsumata to be in that category. Tracking down Rosegold Games was far from simple, but after starting at DeviantArt, then digging out an old-email address, I was able to get in touch with someone inside of Rosegold: let's just call them RG until they e-mail back a name.

Stop me if you've heard this one before. You wake up in an insane asylum. Trapped in your own nightmares, you begin losing hope as your own mind drives you insane. Your friends are on the way to spring you out, but your psychosis has other plans. That's the basic setup for a promising visual novel being developed in on the other side of the world. After finding out about Resonance via my stalking of Cyanide Tea (sorry ladies), I was pleased to be able to talk to them about their project.
It's rare that a visual novel catches my attention the way Break Chance Memento has. It certainly had plenty of reasons for me to ignore it now that I think about it, however despite the BL and everything associate with that sort of thing I find myself looking forward to playing the game in full.
A lot of the credit of getting your atypical heterosexual male interested in BCM goes to the two behind the game. Cyanide Tea is really composed of only two people: Auro-Cyanide (artist) and Camille (writer, etc.). This month I had a chance to sit down (digitally) with them and talk about how Cyanide Tea began, their ambitions and, of course, BCM. On October 10th I, by an absolutely fluke, ran across the teaser for Dischan Media’s Cradle Song. A project going on three years in the making, it has been a labor of love for the founder of Dischan: Jeremy Miller AKA Dani. But, just who is Dani? When will Cradle Song be released and then what can we expect from Dischan afterward, if anything? This month, I’ve brought you the man himself to find out.
Most fans of English visual novels know Deji-chan’s work…even if they don’t ‘know’ anything about her. A native of Chile, M. Beatriz Garcia has been doing commercial work since 2009 and her incredible skills can be seen in some of the most noteworthy English VNs of the past two years.
Currently she is working on the third game of SakeVisual’s Jisei series, the sequel to The Flower Shop from Winter Wolves and several others VNs as well as professional commissions. We are honored to have her here as part of our monthly interview series! In my first interview ever, I had a conversation with a Polish developer named Tom Grochowiak. Just entering the indie scene, good ol' Tom wanted to make an EVN after a string of smaller hits. Little did I know the attention that title, Cinders, would grab in the independent gaming world on its release a year later. So sit back and enjoy!
